Zachary Heller is a professional jazz dancer and master teacher. He attended the University of Arizona and in 2008 graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance; he also fulfilled all the requirements for Pre-Med.  Zach performed with Giordano Dance Chicago for fourteen seasons. With Giordano Dance Chicago he traveled throughout the US as well as Guatemala, Germany, Austria, Italy, The United Kingdom, Turkey, Latvia, and Israel. Throughout his career he performed works by choreographers such as; Gus Giordano, Mia Michaels, Peter Chu, Frank Chaves, George Balanchine, Brock Clawson, Marinda Davis, Ray Leeper, Sherry Zunker, Douglas Neilsen, Randy Duncan, and many others. He also held the role of rehearsal captain for 4 seasons with GDC and has recently become the director of Giordano II. Zach worked on Industrials for Ameriprise Financial, Baird Wealth Management, Jazzercise, and VISA as well as AbbVie, Abbot, Sanofi and Lilly Pharmaceuticals. He was a featured dancer in the HBO documentary UPROOTED about the roots and foundation of jazz dance. He danced in the movie “Once Upon A Christmas Wish” starring Mario Lopez, it will be airing on Great American Family this holiday season. He has been on faculty for American College Dance Association, guest instructed at South East Missouri State and Muhlenberg College and has held teaching seminars under the Israeli department of education. Zach is on faculty for dance conventions such as Revolution Dance’s Energize Studio Conference, Grand Prix International, The Star Dance Alliance's PowerPak and Studio Invasion Tour, and WILD Intensive. Zachary is on permanent faculty at Definition Dance Academy an The Difference Dance Company in Chicago and Expressenz Dance Center in Indianapolis. His choreography and coaching with Expressenz contributed to winning “Best Jazz Studio” and “Studio of the Year” at The Dance Awards in 2024.  He is certified in all five levels of Giordano Technique and applies classic Giordano jazz to his all of his jazz styles. Zach has recently joined the artistic team at GDC as the Director of Giordano II.
