A Giordano show is always a multi-layered display of art and entertainment, not so much defying barriers and boundaries as transcending them.

Carrying on this incredible legacy, Nan Giordano, Artistic Director of Giordano Dance Chicago, is currently the world’s preeminent authority on the essence, discipline, progression, and continuance of the Giordano Technique. Nan was trained and mentored singe the age of 10 by her
father, dance pioneer Gus Giordano, and over the decades, has adapted and enhanced the Giordano Technique, keeping it fresh, vital, and of the moment.
Starting with the BASIC Level, each of the five levels of the Nan Giordano Certification Program® (NGCP®) has its own curriculum and will be taught in separate certification workshops. Participants will be given codified dance notation to enhance their learning and mastery of this complex and joyous art form. For each level you will receive ten lessons that you can tailor to the needs of your studio, high school, or university program. The pace and structure of the lessons can be modified to your particular program. Some NGCP® certified teachers choose to concentrate on a consecutive ten week course, while others use the material for a year-long program. The content taught in the five levels (Basic, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Professional) stems from the Giordano Technique’s rich heritage and has been further developed and structured by Nan Giordano, Cesar G. Salinas (trained and mentored by Nan since the age of 19) and members of Giordano Dance Chicago. In order to become a certified teacher of the Giordano Technique, one must train with Nan Giordano.
As you progress from the BASIC to the BEGINNING, INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED, and PROFESSIONAL levels of this foundational dance technique, the pacing of the class, the complexity of the movement, and the increased focus on style become more challenging yet even more enjoyable. The Giordano Technique is not external; rather, it emanates from within.
As her father did, Nan has dedicated her life to maintaining the foundation while elevating the level of Jazz Dance.
