JAZZ DANCE/SCIENCE & HEALTH
Giordano Dance Chicago is dedicated to outreach in our community. Giordano Dance Chicago provides at NO cost to the school a robust program integrating Science and Health with Dance in four under-resourced CPS schools, Willa Cather, Frederic Chopin, Bernhard Moos, & Richard Yates Elementary Schools. The program comprises 14 one hour dance classes and are taught about the skeletal system, muscles, nutrition, respiratory system and more. These lessons are then translated into understanding of how the body works together through jazz dance. Giordano Dance Chicago is proud to be teaching over 250 classes to more than 250 students this year, and providing hundreds of free performance tickets to these students and their families.
FREE TICKET PROGRAM
Giordano Dance Chicago's free ticket program provides over 800 complimentary tickets each season to students and families of our CPS outreach programs as well as other community partners. In 2021 we created the Dance Circle program to bring together Chicago dance artists to connect and engage with one another. Through this program we were able to extend our free ticket program to allow these hard working dance artists to see GDC at no cost.
