A Giordano show is always a multi-layered display of art and entertainment, not so much defying barriers and boundaries as transcending them.

America's Original Jazz Dance Company

Nathan Eck is incredibly grateful to be in his first season with Giordano Dance Chicago, America’s original Jazz Dance Company, as a performing artist for Giordano II. Originally from Long Island, New York, Nathan began dancing at the age of three at Legacy Dance Center, where he competed and trained in a variety of styles. He later studied at Long Island High School for the Arts, where he took class from American Ballet Theatre and was introduced to concert dance. Nathan continued to expand his skillsets by attending intensives such as Joffrey Spectrum, Entity Contemporary Dance, and Instincts. In May of 2026, Nathan graduated summa cum laude from the University at Buffalo with a BFA in Dance. During his time at UB, Nathan performed with Zodiaque Dance Company for three seasons. He served as social media coordinator for Zodiaque’s 50th anniversary Gala season and, as a senior, became assistant to the directors for the company. During his time with Zodiaque he has performed works by Mr. Tom Ralabate, Chanon Judson, Roberto Villanueva, Mr. Bill Thomas, Melanie Aceto, Kerry Ring, Michael Deeb Weaver, Samantha Campanile, and Kurt Adametz. In 2025, Nathan was honored to receive the Mr. Tom Ralabate UB Jazz Dance Award, and the following year, was awarded the Jean Taylor Beard Award. Nathan has performed as a featured dancer in Starring Buffalo’s Production of Grease at Shea’s 710 Theatre, and as a dancer/collaborator for the Indeterminacy Festival in New York City. Additionally, he has performed as The Prince in multiple productions of the American Academy of Ballet’s The Nutcracker, and is an advanced tap dancer, with over 18 years of experience. Nathan’s time in Buffalo fueled his love for performance and ambition to be as versatile of a dancer as possible.
In addition to performing, Nathan holds a strong passion for teaching the next generation of dancers. He has built strong relationships with dance studios across Buffalo, teaching at Elite Dance Company, Tonawanda Dance Arts, Dancentral, and the American Academy of Ballet. He was also the Teaching Assistant for Tap 2 and Social Dance for Theatre and Dance majors at University at Buffalo. Through the Nan Giordano Certification Program, Nathan is now certified to teach the Intermediate level of the Giordano Technique. Currently, he is a teacher with Momentum Performing Arts and All About Dance Chicago. Nathan aspires to continue to grow as a teacher and person while helping his students blossom as well. He is humbled and honored to be a part of Giordano Dance Chicago and the Chicago dance community.
