Simon Schuh, originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin, was the first male dancer in Chicago to receive the Young Men's Dance Initiative scholarship, which granted him the opportunity to study at The Chicago Academy for the Arts, a college preparatory arts high school.

As a result of this combined training, Simon was accepted to the prestigious University of Southern California (USC) Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, under the direction of William Forsythe and Jodie Gates, where he received his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance. During his attendance, he got to perform works by esteemed choreographers such as: William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin, Jiri Kylian, Victor Quijada, Alejandro Cerrudo, Rubberlegz, and Barak Marshall.

Upon graduating in 2021, Simon started his professional career in San Francisco dancing with ODC/Dance, and later was given the opportunity to dance in Europe, and accepted a position with Klaipeda Muzinkas Theatres, in Lithuania, where he got to perform works by Alexander Ekman, Robert Bondura, and got to tour all over Eastern Europe.

Simon is now a Main Company member with Giordano Dance Chicago, where he has performed works by Al Blackstone, Ray Leeper, Marinda Davis, Christopher Huggins, Liz Imperio, and more.

Simon was also granted the opportunity to choreograph a world premiere titled “Interlinked” which he set on Giordano II - marking his first choreographic debut on a professional company.

Simon is excited to enter his third season with Giordano Dance Chicago!
