Linnea Stureson Tolbert began training at Lake Erie Ballet School of Dance in Erie, Pennsylvania under the directorship of Lesley Bories-Scalise.  She was later accepted and hired into the school-affiliated dance company. There she had the privilege of performing various roles such as Dew Drop, Snow Queen, and Spanish Lead in their rendition of The Nutcracker.  The majority of her ballet training has been an eclectic mixture of Balanchine, Cecchetti, and Vaganova techniques.  However, before pursuing a diligent and technically ballet specific training program, Linnea had established strong jazz, modern and tap techniques at various competitive and recreational dance studios.  Through her competitive years she learned to value and excel in performance, expression, artistry, and musicality. Linnea continued her training at Mercyhurst University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Performance in 2014.  She had an expedited experience at Mercyhurst that shaped her into a well-rounded, diverse, mature artist with a hunger for knowledge. Linnea looks forward to returning to school and working towards a Master's Degree after her performance career. Currently, Linnea is proud to be a Company

Member with Giordano Dance Chicago, America’s original jazz dance company for her third season, after three seasons in Giordano II. In addition to performing, Linnea is a passionate dance educator and choreographer. She enjoys teaching at various schools across the Midwest and East Coast. In the summer of 2019, Linnea was honored to share her love and passion for the Giordano Jazz technique with her fellow students after completing her certifications in Basic, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Level of the Nan Giordano Certification Program®. Linnea would like to thank her family and friends for their continued love and support of her dreams.
