Jaylen De’Angelo Clay, from Atlanta, Georgia, joins GDC mid-season as a member of Giordano II. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at Alabama State University, where he won both Most Outstanding Modern Dancer and Most Outstanding Choreographer in 2018, and graduated with his Master of Fine Arts Degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne in 2021. He has performed with Eleone Dance Company, the Mid-Atlantic Ballet Company, and for Kelly Rowland’s Blackout Tour. Jaylen has danced works by choreographers such as Omri Drumlevich, Robert Battle, Deshonna Pepper, and Frank Gatson. He was the winner of the 2019 University of Illinois Publicly Active Graduate Education Fellowship, and the 2019 Graduate Image of Research & People’s Choice Award.
