Erina Ueda was born in Nagoya, Japan, and raised in Chandler, Arizona. This season, she is entering her first year as a Main company member after a year as a Giordano II dancer. She is also our videographer and social media consultant, and has completed the Professional Level of the Nan Giordano Certification Program® as the first Japanese certified worldwide. She attended the University of Arizona, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a major in Dance and a minor in Psychology in 2021. Already in her young career, Erina has toured many states and countries, has been selected and premiered many of her choreographic works, and has accumulated many performances by renowned choreographers, including Paul Taylor, Martha Graham, Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, Ronen Koresh, Ray Mercer, Frank Chavez, Autumn Eckman, Alejandro Cerrudo, Christopher Huggins, Peter Chu, Ray Leeper, Kiesha Lalama, Jon Lehrer, Nacho Duato, and many various prominent choreographers. Erina has been featured in Netflix’s 2018 film “Driven to Dance” by Tati and Anthony Vogt, and she will be featured alongside Autumn Eckman in a soon-to-be-released documentary filmed by Emmy Award-winner, Ryan Fitzgerald.
