Cicilia Robison joins GDC and the Chicago community as an enthusiastic nonprofit professional after years of rural living in Montana and Vermont. She grew up in Whitefish, MT, just outside of Glacier National Park. Cicilia moved to Middlebury, Vermont to attend Middlebury College, where she double majored in Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies, and Sociology, with a focus on Privilege and Poverty. While there, Cicilia danced casually with her school’s Swing Dance club, and choreographed for and performed in two shows as part of the group. Her time in the casual partner dancing world has given Cicilia a deep appreciation for the dedication and talent that the GDC Company dancers have.
She has always been driven to serve in the nonprofit sphere, and spent the year after college serving as an AmeriCorps member at Addison Central Teens. Through her service year at the little nonprofit teen center, Cicilia developed a wide range of nonprofit management skills and was hired as the Executive Director of the organization upon completion of her term. While there, she focused on capacity building, growing both staff and services. After spending the last several years leading, Cicilia is excited to take her talent for organizational growth and use it to support the team at Giordano Dance Chicago as they bring beautiful art to the world.
