GIORDANO WORKSHOP June 11-16, 2017
17 classes (90 minutes each) in Giordano Technique, Giordano Dance Chicago Repertoire, Floor Ballet, Contemporary, Latin Jazz, Stretch, Fitness plus much more and special sessions geared toward participants in each track.
Teen Track Ages 13-18
For intermediate dancers, the Teen Track focuses on technique, repertoire, and becoming a stronger dancer and performer. Special sessions include an exciting mock audition. Be challenged as you move one step closer to the pre-professional or college level.
Registrants in the Teen Track must be accompanied to the Workshop by a chaperone over the age of 21. One adult can accompany up to seven minors.
College Track with Audition Ages 18+
The College Track is designed to transition college students into the world of professional dance. With a focus on learning Giordano Dance Chicago's challenging repertoire, special sessions for this track include improving audition skills and understanding how to prepare for a career in the Broadway, Commercial, or Concert Dance worlds.
College Track participants audition (Sunday June 11, 10:30AM at 425 South Wabash) for GDC’s one-of-a-kind 2017/18 Professional Mentoring Program and Giordano Workshop Scholarship. A limited number of male and female auditionees selected will be paired with GDC dancers for a year of ongoing guidance and receive a scholarship for the summer 2018 workshop.
Professional/Teacher Track Ages 20+
For the working dancer or dance educator, the Professional/Teacher Track emphasizes technique and repertoire for enhancing your professional skills. Special sessions are offered on discovering the right music for your class or choreography and how to best guide your students' professional careers.

Learn the Giordano Technique through the NGCPSM
This is an amazing chance to learn the essential Giordano Technique with master teacher Nan Giordano, the world's pre-eminent authority on the Giordano Technique. She has worked from the rich legacy of her father and mentor, Gus Giordano, to further develop the technique for today's athletic and sophisticated dancer. Four levels of foundational dance technique – Basic, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced* – will each be taught in five hour sessions. Every level of the Giordano Technique provides hands-on experience and written materials needed to lead your university or studio students with material for 10 lessons.

A student’s dress is a reflection of their discipline and respect for the art form. The following dress code allows our faculty to observe and correct the posture and alignment of the students. Please have a clean, elegant presentation in your look.

NGCPSM and Giordano Dance Chicago Workshop are the only programs which follow the organizational mission, training syllabi, and artistic vision of Giordano Dance Chicago, and in order to become a certified teacher of the Giordano Technique, one must train with Nan Giordano. Giordano Dance Chicago has no affiliation in any way with the Gus Giordano Dance School in Andersonville.
