WORLD PREMIERES
A major new work choreographed by Rennie Harris, commissioned by GJDC for the company's repertoire. Harris, founder of the Philadelphia based Rennie Harris Pure Movement (RHPM) and choreographer of Philadanco!'s acclaimed signature work "Philadelphia Experiment." uses innovative urban, funk and street movement influenced by African dance.
"Gravity," a pas de deux choreographed by GJDC company dancers Lindsey Leduc Brenner.
"commonthread," a new work by former GJDC company dancer Autumn Eckman. This work for five dancers is set to an eclectic original music composition incorporating aspects of world and folk music. The composers are Chicago's Dan Myers and John Ovnik, and Myers will perform segments of the composition on stage each evening.
PLUS THE RETURN OF
Tony Powell's "Rapture" (2001) restaged by former GJDC dancer, Autumn Eckman. "Rapture" features technically challenging choreography with intricate movement patterns, performed to a hypnotic recorded score by Steve Reich.
